Canva ProSuite: What Designers Should Check Before Switching

Canva ProSuite brings several creative disciplines into one connected ecosystem. The useful question for a designer is whether that connection makes your actual work easier to finish, revise, and hand over.

What Canva announced

Canva’s official ProSuite announcement brings together Affinity, Cavalry, Flourish, and Leonardo. It describes additions including Affinity’s Blend Tool, scripting, and photography improvements. It also labels selected Cavalry animation editing inside Canva as coming soon. That distinction matters: an announced integration is not automatically a feature you can use today. This is an announcement-based analysis, not a hands-on software review. The checks below are our proposed evaluation method, not test results.

Start with a project, not a feature list

A convincing demo usually shows a clean starting point. Creative work rarely does. Your real project may contain an awkward crop, an old font, a last-minute copy change, and a client who needs another format tomorrow.

Choose one small, completed project as a test. A campaign graphic is a useful starting point because it combines imagery, typography, hierarchy, and delivery requirements. Rebuild it using the tools you are considering, then ask another person to request a realistic revision.

Do not judge only the first finished image. Watch how easily you can change the work without rebuilding it. A beautiful result that becomes fragile after one revision is a poor foundation for repeatable production.

Test the handoff between design and motion

For a brand campaign, a static design and an animated version should feel related. Start by deciding what stays constant: the main message, type hierarchy, palette, and focal point. Then decide what motion adds. Does it reveal something, establish a rhythm, or direct attention?

Make a short version with a clear beginning and ending. Check the smallest text on a phone. Ask someone unfamiliar with the brief what they noticed first. If their answer differs from your intended message, adjust the composition before adding another effect.

These checks apply to any graphic design and motion design workflow. They are about the finished communication, not a particular software brand.

Ask what the next person can edit

A handoff is only successful if the recipient understands what to do with it. Before choosing a workflow, write down who needs to change the headline, replace an image, or produce a new size. Separate those everyday edits from changes that should remain with the designer.

Also check your actual export requirements. Open the delivered files, compare their appearance, and keep an untouched source version. Record any steps that require manual repair. A short list of recurring friction points is more useful than a vague impression that one app feels faster.

The LofiArtLoft perspective

Our view: the best creative tool is the one that preserves your ability to make deliberate choices. Convenience matters, but so do revision quality and a coherent visual result.

Treat the ProSuite news as a reason to test a workflow, not a reason to migrate everything immediately. Define the task, try a representative project, and decide from the result. For the wider process behind that decision, explore how LofiArtLoft approaches creative work.
